UEZ Certification Process

To become eligible for all the benefits of Newark UEZ, your business has to go through these few easy steps to become certified.

1. Determine if your business is located within the boundaries of Newark Urban Enterprise Zone. See our online map or contact our office at 973-424-4154.
   
2. Please read carefully and follow all Program Procedures and Certification Instructions.
   
3. Download, print, fill out, and sign all forms. Your signature is important! That is why you still cannot fill out the forms online. Although your business may not be retail, you are, however, required to fill out and sign the Reduced Sales Tax Form (UZ-1).
   
4. Check if ALL forms have been signed. Failure to fill out and sign all forms will result in the delay of processing your application.
   
5. Mail all forms to:
